Ingredients

  • 5 tomatoes, cored and quartered

  • 1 red onion, peeled and quartered

  • 4 garlic gloves, peeled

  • 3 large jalapeños (2 seeded, 1 unseeded)

  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro

  • 2 limes, squeezed

  • 3 teaspoons ground cumin

  • 2 teaspoons honey

  • Sea salt and pepper, to taste

  • 15-oz crush San Marzano tomatoes

  • 4.5-oz diced green chiles, hot

  • Serve with homemade plantain chips

Directions

  • Put fresh tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeños, cumin, honey, salt and pepper into a food processor. Pulse until well blended.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes and green chiles. Pulse just a little bit so it remains chunky.
  • Add more cumin, salt and pepper, if needed
